A small Japanese garden
In 2014, we were offered to create a Japanese garden on a small piece of land. But, despite such size, this part was very important, since this is the first thing you see coming into the garden.
We decided to create an island in the center (the sacred island Horai), with beautiful stones and nice formed pine. Around the island there is a light gray pebbles. Initially, steping stones were not in the plan, but, since the garden is located very close to the house, in winter you can not walk along the building due to snow falling from the roof. Therefore, we put stepping stones through the pebbles.
Closer to the entrance, at the fence of Thuja, is shishi-odoshi. This was the wish of the owner of the garden, which likes very much this water device.
The garden is fenced with a low bamboo fence, which symbolically separates it from the rest of the garden, but it does not interfere with the view.
We proposed to separate the parking and garden by a wooden trellis, painted brown.
There is another Japanese detail, a small Japanese lantern, where you can put a candle when it is getting dark.
